Is the REET syllabus changed every year?

Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) is a state-level exam conducted by the Rajasthan Education Service to recruit faculty members for primary education. It’s an important exam for any prospective teacher, particularly those who wish to work in government schools in Rajasthan. 

The National Council of Teacher Education conducts REET exam so candidates can be considered eligible and certified as teachers in the country. Candidates do not need any educational qualification or age requirement here. REET is your gateway to government teaching jobs. Candidates who wish to work in government schools in the state of Rajasthan need to be REET certified to get their job. 

Subject List for REET Syllabus

Subjects for both levels of exams will be approximately identical with varying difficulty levels. Moreover, candidates would need to prepare for the social science and science syllabus merely for level two and environmental studies specifically for level one.

Moreover, candidates can access REET syllabus 2022 from the web or from BYJU’S Exam Prep and correlate it. Typically, REET Syllabus does not change every year.

REET English Syllabus

  • Unseen prose passage: Subject-verb control, Linking devices, inferences
  • Parts of speech, rhyme
  • Modal auxiliaries, idioms, and phrasal verbs.
  • Literary terms: Elegy, short story, drama, sonnet.
  • English sounds: Basic knowledge and phonetic transcription
  • English pedagogy: Principles of teaching English

Exam Pattern of REET examination

The REET question papers have 150 objective questions, one mark per question, and no negative marking. Candidates can appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 or just one. The duration of a particular paper is 2.5 hours. Paper one, or level one, is for classes one to five, and Paper two or level two is for classes six to eight.  

REET Syllabus and Exam Pattern have been changed or revised by the Cabinet Minister for the EDUCATION department (Primary & Secondary) for Paper-1 and Paper-2.
